Constitutional Amendment — who chooses Kansas Supreme Court justices

Every voter's August 4 primary ballot includes a constitutional amendment (SCR 1611). It would give Kansans the right to elect Kansas Supreme Court justices to six-year terms — replacing today's system, in which a nominating commission gives the Governor three names to choose from.
